Skanem Stavanger is Norway's largest producer of self adhesive labels with a turnover of nearly 70 MNOK and 40 employees. The factory is situated at Forus, a 10 minute drive from the Stavanger city centre.
Our core activity is self adhesive labels, but we also produce packaging material and tickets. We also deliver labelling machines and equipment. Our largest customers are within the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and chemical/technical industry.
The factory is certified according to ISO 9001. Skanem Stavanger and Skanem Oslo are the two first ISO certified self adhesive label producers in Norway. Skanem Stavanger AS is also the first Norwegian self adhesive label producer that has become a member of the Norwegian Waste Collection Organization.

Our customer service department can help you out with everyday questions on labels. Contact us if you want to order, receive an offer or need assistance when preparing new labels. Questions on colours, materials or die cutters are also answered by our customer service department.

Skanem Stavanger AS has 40 employees. We have more than over 30 years of experience in producing labels and our staff has good know-how on labels for different business segments. For Skanem it is of big importance that our expertise and know-how is available to our customers. Labels are much more than just ink on self adhesive paper.
Products:
• Self adhesive labels:
The label has developed from being only informative to become a marketing tool with different functions. Today's labels are designed to sell, profile, inform and be logistics adapted. Besides they should be applicated to many different products and endure different environments under production and storing. If you know where the label is going to be applicated and when you need it, we know the rest. We help you in chosing materials, die cutters and production tecnique and see to that you get a label that meets your demands.
• Skanem Sleeves:
Skanem Sleeves is one the latest inventions from Skanem. This concept has been especially developed for todays producers and packaging companies. We use a thin cardboard that still gives a good graphical print quality that enables you to have hige quality pictures and text information. We have also developed an adhesive where there is no need for non recyclable backing material in order to wind the sleeves into rolls. The sleeve can be applicated by hand, but we have developed a series of equipment for automatical application, among them the new inline SE Sleeve machine. This machine has been constructed for maximal flexibility and has the ability to applicate the sleeve in four different ways, on the top, on the side and top, as a "C"-label and round the whole package.
In addition to fixed weight you have the posibility to add a scale for products with variable weight. You can also get a built-in control scale where products that are over- or underweight are sorted out. The machine is also quick to change over if you pack different sized cups. The machine has a capacity of 60 packs per minute if a scale is used and 100 packs for non scaled products. All this in a machine that is under two meter long.
• Other specialities:
One of our specialities is quality printing on difficult packaging materials. We also print sleeves, cards and tickets for use in cinemas, theatres, sporting events etc. We use the same technology as with self adhesive materials and the advantage by delivering them in rolls is that you are able to print variable information on a standard layout like "best before date" etc.
• Printers and labelling machines:
Skanem Stavanger AS offers a total concept in labels and labelling machines. We can offer all kinds of labelling machines like printers, dispensers, conveyors and scales from leading producers like European Labelling System (ELS), Novexx, Markpoint and Teltek. Production:
In our production you will find all the technology and competence that is necessary for production of labels.
All parts of the production process at Skanem is being taken care of internally. Our repro department uses the following eqipment:
• Macintosh
• Equipment to make flexo plates for printing
• All artwork is set up in Adobe Illustrator or ArtPro
The finished plates go to the production for printing. After printing they are winded into rolls at the size specified by our customers. Our logistics department takes care of packing and dispatch in a proper way. This saves time and gives us the opportunity to have full control over all parts of the production chain. With all this in house, it enables us to respond quickly if labels are required on a short notice.
We use the following printing technologies:
• Flexo, waterbased and UV-colours
We are able to take care of all types of jobs and adapt printing teqnique to layout instead of the other way around. Quality is always a priority.
A part of our strength lies in the work carried out by our repro and design department. This department is a tool for creating new solutions and to realize our customers demands and wishes.
